Regulations

  1. You need to be enrolled as a student for any period during the 2008/9 academic year. ANY student qualifies, whether you are full time or part time, graduate or under graduate, at a 1-year, 2-year, 4-year or graduate school. It doesn’t matter.
  2. Unfortunately, being alumni of a university does not make you eligible for tournaments or awards unless you are enrolled as a student for any period during the 2008/9 academic year.
  3. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate.
  4. You are eligible to designate one charity or university club to receive a charitable donation based on your successful ranking in College Poker tournaments. The organization designated by you will be verified as a recognized entity before the donation is paid. Only one organization can be designated during the registration process and cannot be changed once it is submitted. These donations will be made after June 30, 2009 and not later than July 31, 2009.
  5. Any awards won by you will be paid in cash.
  6. Taxes are your responsibility.
  7. You consent to having your photo taken and your details published in the press.
  8. Management reserves the right to change the awards, dates and times of the events as well as the number of entrants.
  9. We acknowledge that this event is not endorsed by any particular college or club. It is your responsibility to ensure that participation in this event does not violate any college, state or federal law.

Terms and Conditions

  1. You, the player, fully understand and agree to become a party to and shall abide by all rules, terms and conditions contained herein as the sole set of rules pertaining to the College Poker and that such rules, terms and conditions may change from time-to-time. The player must also familiarize himself or herself with the terms and conditions pertaining to any of the poker rooms through which the player may interact to participate in the College Poker program. The player shall be responsible for checking these terms and conditions regularly for any changes thereto.
  2. By registering an account at the poker room where College Poker is played, the player:
    1. Warrants that all information provided by the player to the poker room is true and correct. Notwithstanding the foregoing warranty, the player acknowledges that the poker room has a standard verification procedure for authenticating player details.
    2. Accepts these terms and conditions as a binding agreement between the player and the poker room, and furthermore agrees that such agreement shall be the sole agreement governing the player's relationship with the poker room to the exclusion of all other agreements, statements, and representations save for a written agreement between the parties specifically referring to these terms and conditions and the expansion/restriction thereof by such additional written agreement.
  3. A player may only register for one College Poker account, and only register with one of the hosting poker rooms for participation in the College Poker program.
  4. The player, by providing their postal address, agrees to accept hardcopy correspondence from the College Poker at such address, from time to time, and acknowledges that such correspondence may carry conspicuous branding identifying the same with the College Poker program. If the player does not wish to receive hardcopy correspondence to their postal address, they may unsubscribe from such communication by sending an email with "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject header to unsubscribe@collegepoker.com.
  5. The player, by providing their email address, agrees to receive email correspondence from the College Poker at such address, from time to time. If the player does not wish to receive email correspondence to their email address, they may unsubscribe by following the unsubscribe instructions set out in the College Poker Privacy/Spam policy.
  6. By playing any game at a poker room where College Poker is played, the player warrants that the player is familiar with the rules of such game and acknowledges that the rules of each game are available under the Game Rules section of that poker room.
  7. Players who play at the poker room where College Poker is played must be at least 18 years old, meaning that the player must be an adult with full contractual capacity or a "major" as that term is legally defined in the state in which the player is resident.
  8. The player shall not allow any third party including, without limitation, any minor (person under the age of majority stipulated in the clause immediately above), to play at the poker room where College Poker is played using the player's poker room account details. The player accepts full responsibility for the consequences of allowing such activity and, without derogating from the generality of any other indemnity contained herein, indemnifies and holds the poker room where College Poker is played harmless in respect of any damages arising from the same.
  9. The player acknowledges that it is the player's sole responsibility to understand the applicable laws of jurisdiction pertaining to the player's use of the online poker room facilities, and pertaining to online poker facilities in general, prior to making use of the poker room where College Poker is played (both in terms of the country within which they are resident when playing at the poker room where College Poker is played and in terms of any state's laws to which they may be subject, notwithstanding that they are not physically present in such state when playing at the poker room where College Poker is played). By making use of the poker room where College Poker is played, the player warrants that the player understands the applicable laws pertaining to online poker facilities and the player's use thereof and that it is entirely legal to make use of online poker facilities in terms thereof.
  10. The player shall hold the College Poker and the poker room where College Poker is played, their shareholders, its employees, officers, directors, licensees, distributors, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion or other agencies, media partners and agents harmless and shall fully indemnify the same from any and all costs, expenses, liabilities and damages whatsoever that may arise as a result of the player's: entry, use, or re-use of the poker room:
    1. use of any materials at the poker room where College Poker is played;
    2. entry, use, or re-use of the poker room server where College Poker is played;
    3. participation in any game at the poker room where College Poker is played;
    4. the acceptance of any payout/prize from the poker room where College Poker is played; or
    5. breach of any warranty given in terms of this agreement.
  11. Play at the poker room where College Poker is played, as real or guest players, is intended for the use of Adults, for entertainment purposes only.
  12. The use of robotic, mechanical, electronic, or other devices to automatically make playing decisions in any game as a guest player or real player is strictly prohibited at the poker room, save where such devices are provided, or specifically authorized in writing, by the poker room where College Poker is played. Use of such devices may, in the sole discretion of the poker room management, result in action including exclusion from play at the poker room, expulsion from all promotional offerings and placement of details of such activity and the participants on a poker room industry database of restricted players accessed by other online poker rooms.
  13. The player acknowledges that the poker room where College Poker is played software, and all material which may be visually or audibly presented to the player in the player's use of the poker room is either the intellectual property (including, but not limited to, copyright, domain name rights and trademarks) of the poker room or its licensor's and in this regard the player acknowledges that it has no rights whatsoever to use or lay claim to any intellectual property belonging to the sponsor's poker room and/or its licensors.
  14. The player acknowledges that the poker room management may close any poker room account which is, in its sole opinion, dormant or desirable.
  15. Each clause contained in these terms and conditions shall be separate and severable from each of the others. If any clause is found to be void, invalid, or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining rules shall remain of full force and effect.
  16. All dates and times stipulated in these terms and conditions are based on Greenwich Mean Time unless otherwise stated.
